Addison Carbone of Baldwin Wallace Garners Academic All-OAC Honors

Baldwin Wallace University fall sport student-athlete Addison Carbone of Berea has been named to the 2013 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

To qualify, the student-athlete has to have a minimum 3.495 grade point average or higher and achieve varsity status on his or her team. BW had the second most selections of any OAC institution.

Carbone is a junior defensive tackle who carries a 3.678 grade average in marketing. After recovering from a season-ending injury a year ago, he had 33 tackles this season, including a quarterback sack and four tackles for lost yardage. In addition to playing football, Carbone earned a letter as BWÕs starting 285-pound wrestler in 2011, and last season while being out with his injury he was the color analyst on BW football and basketball broadcasts on campus radio station WBWC, 88.3 FM. Carbone also was named as a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 selection and currently appears on the CAPITAL ONE Academic All-America national ballot. He enters his senior season with 67 career tackles.
