Allison Thompson earns recognition at Baldwin Wallace University's Ovation Festival 2017

2017 May 15

Allison Thompson of Lagrange was among over 50 students recognized at the Honors Awards Ceremony during Baldwin Wallace University's Ovation Festival 2017, BW's annual celebration of student achievement.

Thompson, a graduate of Keystone High School majoring in marketing and public relations, received the Carmel Family Business Scholarship. The scholarship is given to business majors based on outstanding academic achievements, leadership activities, contributions to the department and to the university. The Carmels, alumni of BW, recognize the importance of a sound preparation in business and the liberal arts in order to obtain a rich and fulfilling life.

In presenting the award, BW recognized Thompson as a full-time student and a full-time worker who takes her education seriously. As a member of the BW Digital Marketing Clinic, she applied the knowledge she acquired in the classroom to projects that helped local enterprises.

Now in its 10th year, Ovation has expanded from a single day to a 10-day festival in order to more fully recognize student success in research and scholarship, the arts, experiential learning and leadership, and athletics. The signature event is the Day of Excellence, which features exceptional student work from every school of the University through posters, displays, live presentations and performances. The day concludes with the campus-wide Honors Awards Ceremony that recognizes student achievement with scholarships and awards.
