Andrew Bianco honored at Baldwin Wallace University's Student Life and Leadership Awards

2016 May 25

Andrew Bianco of Sharpsville was honored at the Student Life and Leadership Awards Ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2016 semester. Bianco, a graduate of Hickory High School majoring in chemistry, received the Emerging Leader of the Year Award. The award is presented to a female and a male student in their first year of leadership, who have successfully adjusted to leadership at BW with ease and have exhibited a healthy balance in leadership and stewardship. These leaders embody and uplift the values and mission of Baldwin Wallace University, with or without a formal title.

The annual ceremony celebrates student leaders, faculty and staff advisors, organizations, and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond. BW students can choose from over 100 student clubs, professional organizations, and honor societies, ranging from community service and political action groups to fraternities and sororities. The University encourages students to participate in a variety of groups to foster leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving. Students are also encouraged to engage in service opportunities at the local, national and international levels through one-time and weekly service projects, alternative break trips, and international service experiences. All service programs are designed and led by student leaders as well.
