Baldwin Wallace Softball Pitcher Erica Morgan of Brook Park Named OAC Rookie of the Year

BEREA, Ohio -- Baldwin Wallace University freshman softball pitcher Erica Morgan of Brook Park has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year. The Yellow Jackets finished the year with a record of 18-19 overall and 10-8 in the OAC.

Morgan, became just the second BW freshman to earn Rookie of the Year (Senior Tabitha Murray was the other four years ago). She finished her inaugural campaign as the ace of the Yellow Jacket pitching staff with a team-best 8-6 record with a 3.21 earned run average (ERA).  She appeared in 18 games, including 12 starts, and had 63 strikeouts in 93.2 innings pitched  Morgan also had a .255 batting average with one double, three homeruns, two of which came in the final game of the season against Muskingum University, and seven runs batted-in (RBI).
