Baldwin Wallace University Center for Innovation & Growth awards Judith Mehalic Growth Practice internship

2016 Jun 8

The Baldwin Wallace University Center for Innovation & Growth (CIG) has announced that Judith Mehalic of North Royalton will serve as a 2016-17 CIG Growth Practice intern. Mehalic, a graduate of Padua Franciscan High School majoring in accounting and business administration, is one of 10 high-achieving students selected from a broad array of backgrounds. The interns will spend the summer and upcoming academic year working as part of a project team on professional consulting projects for CIG clients, which include Cliffs Natural Resources, GOJO Industries, Parker Hannifin Corporation, OEConnection and Westfield Group, as well as various non-profit organizations.

CIG Growth Practice interns are trained to conduct secondary market research and primary market research using Voice of the Customer methodology. Additionally, interns work with project teams to create and deliver professional presentations for clients, outlining research findings, recommendations, and strategic options. They also complete four weeks of presentation coaching and attend multiple entrepreneur/innovation tours. The tours provide the opportunity to meet and learn from a variety of northeast Ohio entrepreneurs and innovators while also building their social and professional networks.

CIG Growth Practice internships are made possible through the generous support of The Philip E. & Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation, which pledged $1 million to fund the Ratcliffe Student Fellows Program and its complementary internship program within CIG's Growth Practice. The Foundation's goal is to support students in developing entrepreneurial skillsets.
