Baldwin Wallace Women's Lacrosse Standout Maddie Russell Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 At-Large Team

Baldwin Wallace University junior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference midfielder Maddie Russell of Lakewood has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 At-Large team. Russell now qualifies for the CoSIDA Division III Academic All-America ballot.

Russell a three-year letterwinner, is a candidate to earn her second career Academic All-OAC honor. She is a chemistry major that carries a 3.95 grade point average. Russell is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. She was the 2015 OAC Defensive Player of the Year and a second-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Great Lakes Region pick a season ago.

This season, Russell led the team with 33 caused turnovers, 64 ground balls, and 53 draw controls. She also scored 30 goals and added 26 assists for 56 points.

Russell owns the BW game-record in three categories, holds two single season school-records and is the school career record-holder in six categories. She has played in 50 games, scored 114 goals and added 67 assists for 181 points. Defensively, Russellhas tallied 139 caused turnovers, 143 draw controls and 212 ground balls. BW finished the year with an overall record of 11-7.

The Yellow Jackets had an OAC record of 4-3 and advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinal game for the third staright season.
