Casey Greene inducted into Mathematics Honor Society at Baldwin Wallace University

Casey Greene of Canton was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon (KME), National Mathematics Honor Society, in the spring 2016 semester. Greene, a graduate of Canton South High School majoring in education with a focus on mild/moderate educational needs, shared the honor with 22 other students. Society membership is extended to regularly enrolled students at institutions with a Kappa Mu Epsilon chapter. Inductees must have completed at least three semesters of the college course and rank in the upper 35 percent of their class; completed at least three college courses in mathematics including at least one semester of calculus and attained an average of B or better in all mathematics courses; and completed at least one semester at the institution, if having transferred, and have completed at least one mathematics course with a B or better at the institution prior to initiation into membership.
Founded in 1931, KME is a specialized honor society in mathematics. KME seeks to promote the interest of mathematics among undergraduate students. Chapters are located in colleges and universities of recognized standing which offer a strong mathematics major. Members are selected from students of mathematics and other closely related fields who have maintained standards of scholarship, have professional merit, and have attained academic distinction.
