D'Angelo Sanders honored at Baldwin Wallace University's Student Life and Leadership Awards

2018 May 10

D'Angelo Sanders of Akron was honored at the Student Life and Leadership Awards ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2018 semester. Sanders, a graduate of Harvey S. Firestone Sr. High School majoring in international business, received the Fraternity Outstanding Chapter President and Outstanding Greek Man of the Year awards. The Outstanding Chapter President award is given to the chapter president who has exhibited exceptional leadership and service to their chapter over the past year. Sanders is president of Sigma Phi Epsilon. His second award is given annually to two students who have each made outstanding contributions to the campus community and the fraternity and sorority community as a role model and a leader, particularly in the areas of scholarship and involvement.

The annual ceremony celebrates student leaders, faculty and staff advisers, organizations and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond. BW students have the opportunity to join over 100 student clubs, professional organizations and honor societies, ranging from community service and political action groups to fraternities and sororities. The University encourages students to participate in a variety of groups to foster leadership skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving. Students are also encouraged to engage in service opportunities at the local, national and international levels through one-time and weekly service projects, alternative break service trips and international service experiences.
