2017 Mar 15

Delaney Hill of London was among 18 Baldwin Wallace University students who spent the fall 2016 semester learning in another country through the BW Study Abroad Center's Independent Study program. Hill, a graduate of London High School majoring in psychology, traveled to Stirling, Scotland for an individualized immersion experience at the University of Stirling. Stirling aims to be at the forefront of research and learning that helps to improve lives. Working with academic, commercial, public, private and voluntary sector partners, Stirling is one of the UK's leading research universities in the fields of health and wellbeing, the environment and people, culture and society, enterprise and the economy, and sport.

The BW junior had this to say about the experience, "I spent the fall 2016 semester studying abroad in Scotland at the University of Stirling. I was enrolled in history and religion courses. In addition to academics, I also gained important life skills as I traveled throughout the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Germany and Poland."

The BW Study Abroad Center engages students through global exploration and off-campus study that enhances personal growth, educational enrichment and career development as part of the university's liberal arts effort to cultivate contributing and compassionate citizens. Through faculty-led and independent study abroad opportunities, students can build strong communication skills, enhanced critical thinking and personal confidence from trekking the unknown.
