Dominic Polifrone of Baldwin Wallace Earns First Career Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Weekly Honor

Baldwin Wallace University freshman men's tennis player Dominic Polifrone of Hudson has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player-of-the-Week for the first time in his career.

Polifrone went a perfect 4-0 in singles action as well as posting an undefeated 4-0 mark in doubles play in four BW victories against Franciscan University (9-0), Penn State-Behrend University (8-1), Wittenberg University (9-0) and Earlham (Ind.) College (6-3).

He had a record of 42-18 at number four singles and was a perfect 12-0 at number one singles. Polifrone teamed up with All-OAC player Kyle Patterson (Wooster/Triway) for a record of 25-13 at second doubles and a mark of 8-1 at first doubles.

In his first season in the Brown and Gold, Polifrone is undefeated in singles play with a record of 8-0, including a 5-0 mark at number four. He won his lone match at first singles and is 2-0 in tournament action. Polifrone and Patterson have teamed up for a team-best 10-2 record in doubles action.

BW is back in action when it travels to Hilton Head, South Carolina for its annual spring break trip. The Yellow Jackets will play eight matches at the Hilton Head Tennis Center from Sunday, March 6 until Wednesday, March 9. BW opens its spring break matches with a doubleheader against Arcadia (Pa.) University and Roanoke (Va.) University on March 6 at 8:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
