Elizabeth Cherry to Serve Up Thanksgiving Dinner in the Motor City

2014 Oct 23

Elizabeth Cherry of Columbus is one of 11 Baldwin Wallace University students who will travel to Detroit over Thanksgiving break to volunteer with CASS Community Social Services. Cherry, a junior majoring in mathematics, volunteered for the five day trip through BW's Alternative Break program. The focus of the trip is hunger and homelessness. Students will prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal and help with other CASS social service programs. BW student, Devin McNulty, and faculty advisor, Robin Gagnow, will lead the trip.

The Alternative Break experience at BW provides students with opportunities to make a difference, travel to other cities, learn new skills and meet people with similar interests. Alternative Break is one of many community service programs organized by the University's Office of Community Outreach to support BW's mission of creating contributing, compassionate citizens.
