Erin Kasper of Baldwin Wallace University Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Honor

Baldwin Wallace University track and field student-athlete Erin Kasper (Amherst/Marion L. Steele High School) has been honored by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) as an All-Academic Individual.

The BW men's team had two of the 402 student-athletes honored while the the Yellow Jacket women's squad had three of the 608 student-athletes honored.

To qualify for the USTFCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and must have met at least one of the follow athletic standards:

  • Competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship
  • Finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-35 in a relay event on of the official NCAA Descending Order List

"We are very proud of these men and women," stated Coordinator of Cross Country/Track & Field and Head Track & Field Coach Matthew Cole. "They work extremely hard in the class room as well as in their own events to earn this honor."

Kasper, who was one of 29 honorees with a 4.0 grade point, graduated Summa Cum Laude this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in exercise science. She was an NCAA Division III Elite 90 finalist, Bonnie Raye Scholar Athlete Award recipient and a three-time Academic All-OAC selection. Kasper, a USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region selection both indoors and outdoors, placed 10th at the outdoor championships and was the OAC Champion in the high jump. She was a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha honoraries. As a junior and senior, Kasper earned the BW Academic Excellence Award for the highest GPA on the team.
