Katherine Simonis inducted into German Honor Society at Baldwin Wallace University

Katherine Simonis of Hinckley was inducted into the Baldwin Wallace University chapter of the National German Honor Society, Delta Phi Alpha (DPA), in the spring 2016 semester. Simonis, a graduate of Highland High School majoring in international business and marketing, shared the honor with three other students. Society membership is extended to students who have four semesters of college-level German study, a minimum 3.3 GPA in German courses, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 and have indicated a continued interest in the study of German language and literature.

Founded in 1929, DPA seeks to recognize excellence in the study of German and to provide an incentive for higher scholarship. The Society aims to promote the study of the German language, literature and civilization, and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture which are of universal value and contribute to the eternal search for peace and truth. DPA has 273 chapters throughout the United States.
