Kelly Brennan of Baldwin Wallace Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honor

Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC runner Kelly Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit High School) and the Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with Division III Academic honors.

To receive this honor, a team must maintain a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or higher while an individual must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and finish in the top 25 percent at their respective regional.

"This is a great honor," stated second-year Head Cross Country Coach Joe Eby. "It is great to see Kelly be recognized for her hard work and dedication both in the classroom and on the course."

The Yellow Jackets had a team grade GPA of 3.40 this fall.

"We are very proud of our women's team," continued Eby. "They work hard on a daily basis to get better in all aspects of their lives. They are a great group of women and are doing tremendous things in the classroom and on the course. It is wonderful to see them to receive this type of recognition."

Brennan, who earns her second consecutive USTFCCA All-Academic honor, is one of 374 student-athletes in Division II to be recognized. She is a business administration major that carries a 3.96 grade point average. Earlier this fall, Brennan earned her first Academic-All-OAC accolade.

For her career, Brennan is a two-time All-Ohio, two-time All-OAC and a two-time All-Great Lakes Region performer. She had a season-best 6K time of 22:21.5 at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble on October 15.

Brennan, a member of the BW indoor track and field team, is back in action with the on Saturday, February 11 when she competes at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center.
