Lucas Stanek of Houston Recognized at Baldwin Wallace University Ovation Awards

Lucas Stanek of Houston was recognized at Baldwin Wallace University's "Ovation 2014," the University's premier capstone celebration of student achievement. The annual event spotlights the outstanding creativity, research and academic and artistic achievement of BW students with displays, live presentations, performances and more.

At the traditional Honors Award Ceremony which caps off the day, Stanek received the A.B. & Georgianna Bonds Scholarship which is given to a student majoring in one of the humanities in recognition of academic excellence. In presenting the award, BW recognized Stanek as a dedicated student of the humanities, "consistently applying the critical and analytical abilities so skillfully acquired in his primary study of history to the broader canvas of the liberal arts." He also took part in the study abroad semester which integrated the literature, history and music of Northern Ireland and South Africa with the practical application of service learning centered on conflict resolution in the areas of race and religion.
