2015 May 15

Lucas Stanek of Litchfield was recognized at the Honors Award Ceremony during Baldwin Wallace University's "Ovation 2015: Unleashed Potential," BW's premier capstone celebration of student achievement. Stanek, a graduate of Buckeye Senior High School majoring in history, received the Dr. Ernest Knautz Award which was established to honor Dr. Ernest Knautz, the late professor emeritus and former head of the Department of Religion at Baldwin Wallace. In presenting the award, BW recognized how Stanek brings his History major and Religion and Asian Studies minors together in his work for his Religion classes to produce insightful research and writing in the field of Religion in general, and Asian Religions in particular. He will be traveling to China and plans to go to graduate school in the area of East Asian History and Religion.

Held every spring, Ovation is a high-energy, festive event that spotlights the outstanding creativity, research, and academic and artistic accomplishments of BW students. Ovation brings together the whole BW community to celebrate the excellent work of BW's students and faculty. Representing all schools of the University, over 100 students presented their work in the form of displays, live presentations, performances and more.
