Maddie Russell of Baldwin Wallace University Garners Spring Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Honor

Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River High School) is one of three Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse student-athletes to be named to the 2017 Spring Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and maintain varsity status.

Russell, who earns her third Academic All-OAC honor, is a chemistry major that carries a 3.97 GPA. She is also a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies. Russell is the first OAC player to be named a four-time All-OAC first-team selection and was named the OAC Defender of the Year as she tallied 38 goals and 14 assists for 52 points with 73 ground balls, 56 draw controls and 35 caused turnovers.

BW finished the 2017 campaign with an overall record of 13-4 and finished as co-champions in the OAC regular season with a record of 7-1. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship game for the third time in four seasons.
