Mara Mignogna honored at Baldwin Wallace University's Student Life and Leadership Awards

2017 May 1

Mara Mignogna of Pittsburgh was honored at the Student Life and Leadership Awards ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2017 semester. Mignogna, a graduate of Pittsburgh CAPA majoring in arts management and entrepreneurship, received the Emerging Leader of the Year award. The award is presented to two students in their first year of leadership, who have successfully adjusted to leadership at BW with ease and have exhibited a healthy balance in leadership and stewardship. These leaders embody and uplift the values and mission of Baldwin Wallace University, with or without a formal title.

The annual ceremony celebrates student leaders, faculty and staff advisers, organizations and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond. BW students have the opportunity to join over 100 student clubs, professional organizations and honor societies, ranging from community service and political action groups to fraternities and sororities. The University encourages students to participate in a variety of groups to foster leadership skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving. Students are also encouraged to engage in service opportunities at the local, national and international levels through one-time and weekly service projects, alternative break service trips and international service experiences.
