McKenzie Camerieri appointed Student Ambassador at Baldwin Wallace University

2016 Jun 2

McKenzie Camerieri of Brecksville was appointed a Student Ambassador at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2016 semester. Student Ambassadors is a student organization that fosters relationships between BW alumni and the University. Nominated by faculty, staff or advisors/mentors, ambassadors undergo a competitive selection process with finalists invited to the home of BW President Bob and Linda Helmer for a group interview. In the most recent selection process, Camerieri, a graduate of Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School majoring in early childhood education, was appointed along with 18 other students.

The intent of Student Ambassadors is to pull together top BW students into one group that encourages high-level volunteerism and service to the University as well as advanced professional and personal development training. Ambassadors learn skills such as social and dinner etiquette, ballroom dancing, interviewing skills, golf etiquette, resume writing, leadership, art appreciation and networking. They serve at admission and alumni events as well as banquets and receptions honoring achievements in athletics, music, education and the arts. Former president of Student Ambassadors, Amy Dawson '09, described the organization as "Taking great students and making them better."
