Melinda Momeyer honored at Baldwin Wallace University's Student Life and Leadership Awards

2016 May 25

Melinda Momeyer of Erie was honored at the Student Life and Leadership Awards Ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2016 semester. Momeyer, a graduate of McDowell High School majoring in pre-physical therapy, received the Outstanding New Member Award for her contributions to Zeta Tau Alpha. The award recognizes the sorority and fraternity new members who have become extraordinarily involved in the fraternity and sorority community and the campus community. Such involvement is reflected in contributions made to the community and to others as a leader and a role model. A nomination for this award reflects the respect gained from the members in the chapter and should be recognized as an achievement in itself.

The annual ceremony celebrates student leaders, faculty and staff advisors, organizations, and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond. BW students can choose from over 100 student clubs, professional organizations, and honor societies, ranging from community service and political action groups to fraternities and sororities. The University encourages students to participate in a variety of groups to foster leadership skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem solving. Students are also encouraged to engage in service opportunities at the local, national and international levels through one-time and weekly service projects, alternative break trips, and international service experiences. All service programs are designed and led by student leaders as well.
