Nicola Patton helps stage "Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika" at Baldwin Wallace University

2016 Dec 2

Nicola Patton of Painesville was part of a talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University that staged Tony Kushner's "Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika" during the fall 2016 semester. Patton, a graduate of Riverside High School majoring in theatre stage management, served as stage manager for the production.

This conclusion of Kushner's award-winning epic of American theatre is a work of stunning imagination, rich humor and profound feeling. Directed by Scott Plate in BW's intimate William Allman Theatre, the students brought to life Kushner's boundary-breaking depiction of two relationships, one gay and one straight, while giving insight on relationships, politics, illness and life. "Perestroika" also interweaves actual historical characters, such as Roy Cohn and Ethel Rosenberg, and creates a breathtakingly imaginative canvas for an America on the cusp of profound change.

"Angels in America, Part Two: Perestroika" is one of an extensive number of performance experiences providing real-world opportunities for students at Baldwin Wallace University. Productions include plays, musicals, operas, music concerts and dance concerts. Details at www.bw.edu/events.
