Olivia Murphy honored at Baldwin Wallace University's Student Life and Leadership Awards

2018 May 10

Olivia Murphy of Johnstown was honored at the Student Life and Leadership Awards ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2018 semester. Murphy, a graduate of Bishop McCort High School majoring in international studies, received the Outstanding Student Leader of the Year award. The award is presented to two student leaders who have continually exemplified the qualities of leadership, balance, dedication and academic success. They have positively impacted the BW community through their leadership and have served as role models for others by embodying and uplifting the values and mission of Baldwin Wallace.

The annual ceremony celebrates student leaders, faculty and staff advisers, organizations and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond. BW students have the opportunity to join over 100 student clubs, professional organizations and honor societies, ranging from community service and political action groups to fraternities and sororities. The University encourages students to participate in a variety of groups to foster leadership skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving. Students are also encouraged to engage in service opportunities at the local, national and international levels through one-time and weekly service projects, alternative break service trips and international service experiences.
