Olivia Murphy wins post in student government elections at Baldwin Wallace University

2017 Mar 27

Students at Baldwin Wallace University elected Olivia Murphy of Johnstown student body vice president. Murphy, a graduate of Bishop McCort High School majoring in international studies with a focus on international affairs, is also a resident assistant (RA), a sister of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and member of the BW Honors Program and Student Giving Council. Her past student government service includes student senator and chair of the Senate Academics Committee.

"I am extremely excited and honored," Murphy said. "Kevin and I are looking forward to working with the administration, student government and student body as we progress in initiatives that will focus on making Baldwin Wallace a university that will challenge all of its community members to strive to become the best versions of themselves academically, socially, physically, mentally and professionally."

The BW junior, who officially took the oath of office along with President Kevin Kaufhold during an inauguration ceremony on Tuesday, February 21, will provide leadership for a variety of student-led initiatives on the Berea campus. The term of office runs until spring elections in 2018.
