Rachel Wilkie inducted into English Honor Society at Baldwin Wallace University

Rachel Wilkie of Streetsboro was inducted into Baldwin Wallace University's Alpha Mu Zeta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society. Wilkie, a graduate of Twinsburg High School majoring in history and English, shared the honor with 16 other students. To qualify for membership, students are required to complete at least two collegiate courses in English language or literature, beyond the usual requirements in freshman English; have a minimum of a B, or equivalent average, in English and in general scholarship; rank in the top 35 percent of their class; and complete at least three semesters of college course work.

Sigma Tau Delta was founded in 1924 to confer distinction for high achievement in English language, literature, and writing in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. The Society is dedicated to fostering literacy and all aspects of the discipline of English with over 870 local chapters in the U.S. and abroad. Student membership benefits include scholarships and internships; an annual convention; writing awards and publishing opportunities; and lifetime academic recognition.
