She is well liked and respected by faculty and staff and has made a significant contribution to campus life in her short time at BW.

Baldwin Wallace celebrates outstanding multicultural students each spring at the Obie Bender Awards ceremony. The annual awards are named for Dr. Obie Bender '62, who was an officer of the University for 36 years. Throughout his tenure Bender provided exceptional leadership as a BW administrative liaison and was responsible for intercollegiate athletics, campus security, and the health and physical education and recreation facilities.
