Sarah Tiemann earns Obie Bender Multicultural Award at Baldwin Wallace University

2017 Apr 27

Sarah Tiemann of Hudson was honored at the 16th Annual Obie Bender Multicultural Awards ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2017 semester. Tiemann, a graduate student, received the Global Citizen Award. The award spotlights a student who embodies BW's mission to be a "contributing, compassionate citizen of an increasingly global society." The recipient of this award understands and embraces the importance of an intercultural education and readily seeks opportunities offered through such offices as Explorations and International Student Services.

Baldwin Wallace celebrates outstanding multicultural students each spring at the Obie Bender Multicultural Awards ceremony. The awards are named for Dr. Obie Bender '62, who was an officer of the University for 36 years. Throughout his tenure Bender provided exceptional leadership as a BW administrative liaison and was responsible for intercollegiate athletics, campus security, and the health and physical education and recreation facilities.
