Taequann Davidson earns Obie Bender Multicultural Award at Baldwin Wallace University

2016 May 17

Taequann Davidson of Washington was honored at the Obie Bender Multicultural Awards ceremony at Baldwin Wallace University during the spring 2016 semester. Davidson, an arts management & entrepreneurship major, received the Outstanding Sophomore Scholarship. The non-renewable $500 scholarship is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Student Services/Diversity Affairs. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate leadership skills, community service involvement, and the desire to make an impact on the entire BW community.

In presenting the award, BW recognized Davidson as a thoughtful young man who is always respectful and hardworking. He has served as a Jacket Link Mentor this year in addition to singing in the Voices of Praise Gospel Choir and recording his own music.

Baldwin Wallace celebrates outstanding multicultural students each spring at the Obie Bender Awards ceremony. The annual awards are named for Dr. Obie Bender '62, who was an officer of the University for 36 years. Throughout his tenure Bender provided exceptional leadership as a BW administrative liaison and was responsible for intercollegiate athletics, campus security, and the health and physical education and recreation facilities.
