Zachary Sluzala earns recognition at Baldwin Wallace University's Ovation Festival 2017

2017 May 15

Zachary Sluzala of Aurora was among over 50 students recognized at the Honors Awards Ceremony during Baldwin Wallace University's Ovation Festival 2017, BW's annual celebration of student achievement.

Sluzala, a graduate of Strongsville Sr. High School majoring in neuroscience psychology and psychology, received the William Prokasy Psychology Alumni Award. The award is given to a student who has excellent academic achievement, has contributed to the department and has shown great potential in the field of psychology.

Sluzala is a 3rd-year senior psychology and neuroscience major who is also matriculating through the Honors Program. He will be leading on a new line of research assessing hormone levels, which he will complete in the next few months as a BW Summer Scholar.

Now in its 10th year, Ovation has expanded from a single day to a 10-day festival in order to more fully recognize student success in research and scholarship, the arts, experiential learning and leadership, and athletics. The signature event is the Day of Excellence, which features exceptional student work from every school of the University through posters, displays, live presentations and performances. The day concludes with the campus-wide Honors Awards Ceremony that recognizes student achievement with scholarships and awards.
