The Women for BW Legacy Award supports women with financial need working toward their graduate or undergraduate degree at Baldwin Wallace University. The Legacy Award honors the history of the Baldwin Wallace Women's Club, established in 1921. For nearly a century, alumnae and friends from throughout the BW community gathered, in the spirit of philanthropy, to generate funds to help female students in need.

More than 600 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

More than 400 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $6.1 million in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $45 million in financial support from the University for the 2017-2018 academic year.

The BW Women's Club awarded scholarships to six exceptional women on the basis of their academic record, future plans, goals and needs. The scholarships were awarded at a luncheon on Feb. 26, 2017.

Dawna Warren won the Mel and Jena Hakola Prize for Academic and Vocal Excellence at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. Warren, a vocal performance and music therapy major, won the $5,000 prize created to encourage and reward voice students who demonstrate exceptional vocal, musical, intellectual and creative talents.

Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $41 million in financial support from the University for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The BW Women's Club awarded $8,750 in scholarships to seven exceptional women on the basis of their academic record, future plans, goals and needs. The scholarships were awarded at a luncheon on Feb. 28, 2016.

BW broadcasting and mass communication major Sam Trapp won the Broadcast Education Association Walter S. Patterson Award. Sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters, the $1,750 scholarship is awarded to students working toward a career in radio.

Sydney Jahnigen won the Mel and Jena Hakola Prize for Academic and Vocal Excellence at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. Jahnigen, a vocal performance and music education major, won the $5,000 prize created to encourage and reward voice students who demonstrate exceptional vocal, musical, intellectual and creative talents.

Emily Warren won the Mel and Jena Hakola Prize for Academic and Vocal Excellence at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. A junior majoring in music performance with a concentration in voice, Warren won the $4,600 prize created to encourage and reward voice students who demonstrate exceptional vocal, musical, intellectual and creative talents.

BW's premier capstone celebration, Ovation 2014, spotlighted the outstanding creativity, research and academic and artistic achievement of BW students. At a traditional Honors Award Ceremony which caps off the event, the following distinguished students were recognized with scholarships and awards.

A Baldwin Wallace University May 2014 graduate and rising senior are the winners of the prestigious Charles J. Stilwell Scholarship. The $4,000 scholarship, administered by the Cleveland Foundation's Fenn Educational Fund (Fenn), recognizes outstanding performance in an internship.

Two students were honored with the Project Management Institute Northeast Ohio Chapter (PMINEO) Project Management Scholarships during BW's annual Kerzner Lecture. The PMINEO Project Management Scholarship is a program that financially aids students in their pursuit of a Master's Degree at a college that specializes in the course of Project Management.
