The White Rose Ceremony is held annually in memory of Philura Gould Baldwin, BW's first librarian and granddaughter of BW founder John Baldwin. An oration is given, and select female graduates carry white roses in memory of Philura, whose life was cut short by consumption at age 26. The epic gathering included a pep rally, parade, tailgate picnic, alumni reunions and Yellow Jacket football, where two senior members of the Homecoming Court were crowned Homecoming Royalty at halftime.

Five Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field student-athletes received a combined 12 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Great Lakes Region honors.

Baldwin Wallace University's nationally acclaimed music theatre program created the first collegiate virtual production of the powerful Broadway rock musical "Spring Awakening," which premiered November 19-22 and was profiled in American Theatre magazine and The New York Times. Due to demand, a second set of performances streamed December 17-20.

Baldwin Wallace University Men's Soccer Head Coach Reid Ayers is pleased to announce that 14 student-athletes have selected BW to continue their men's soccer careers.

Each spring, Baldwin Wallace University recognizes a select group of graduating seniors with the coveted Outstanding Senior Award. Just 10 students are chosen for their well-rounded excellence, including academics, leadership, service and involvement on campus and in their communities. After just one week of the fall season, the Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team has been honored with two Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfers of the Week as senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) and sophomore Logan Bratsch (Olmsted Falls) were tabbed as the co-players of the week.

Each year during BW's spring commencement weekend, the traditional White Rose recognition honors exceptional female students in memory of Philura Gould Baldwin, granddaughter of BW founder John Baldwin and BW's first librarian. Honored graduates are nominated by the faculty and staff for their distinguished contributions to the Baldwin Wallace community. A member of the class of 1886, Philura Gould Baldwin started BW's first library by collecting books as an undergraduate and cataloging them according to Dewey's new decimal system. The original location of that collection was the basement of old Hulet Hall on Baldwin University's South Campus. The Baldwin Wallace University colors of brown and gold, carried over from Baldwin University, had been Philura's suggestion. Following her death from consumption at age 26, Philura's parents donated funds for a library that was dedicated in her memory in June 1894. The women of the White Rose listed below represent the same commitment and contribution shown by the woman they honor.

The following students successfully completed BW's Sophomore Year Experience (SYE) program during the 2016-17 academic year. SYE is a living/learning community that links academic coursework with career preparation, exploration and real-world experience.

The award is funded by BW alumnus and trustee James Thomas, chairman and CEO of Thomas Properties Group LLC.

Ten BW students took a walk in the footsteps of NASA astronauts over 2017 spring break, the first college students in the nation to pilot a new NASA educational program designed with the help of BW faculty. The program, which is designed to promote teamwork, problem solving, communication and engineering solutions to space science scenarios, culminated with a graduation ceremony and exclusive "Brunch with an Astronaut."
