BW students spend Winter Break volunteering in San Antonio

As part of BWs Alternative Break service program, a group of 11 students traveled to San Antonio over Winter Break 2015. They took part in a variety of activities exploring issues of hunger and food insecurity in a diverse community including immigrant families and veterans. The Alternative Break experience at BW provides students with opportunities to make a difference, travel to another area, learn new skills and meet people with similar interests.

BW students spend Winter Break volunteering in Chicago

As part of BWs Alternative Break service program, a group of 11 students traveled to Chicago over Winter Break 2015. They took part in a variety of activities that focused on the trip theme of "Youth and Trauma." The Alternative Break experience at BW provides students with opportunities to make a difference, travel to another area, learn new skills and meet people with similar interests.

BW students spend Thanksgiving break serving others in Detroit

As part of BW's Alternative Break program, a group of 11 students traveled to Detroit over Thanksgiving break. They worked with CASS Community Social Services where they prepared a Thanksgiving meal for a local community and explored CASS's Environmental Sustainability initiatives. The students also enjoyed some of Detroit's cultural assets including the Eastern Market, the Motown Museum and the Heidelberg Project.

BW Students to Serve Up Thanksgiving Dinner in the Motor City

As part of BW's Alternative Break program, a group of 11 students will travel to Detroit over Thanksgiving break to volunteer with CASS Community Social Services. The focus of the trip is hunger and homelessness. Students will prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal and help with other CASS social service programs. The Alternative Break experience provides students with opportunities to make a difference, travel to other cities, learn new skills and meet people with similar interests.
