Baldwin Wallace University's nationally acclaimed music theatre program created the first collegiate virtual production of the powerful Broadway rock musical "Spring Awakening," which premiered November 19-22 and was profiled in American Theatre magazine and The New York Times. Due to demand, a second set of performances streamed December 17-20.

The innovative "drive-in" performance allowed the audience to watch the live action from the safety of their vehicles while hearing the muses share some of their most memorable "inspirations" on their radio.

Under the direction of Rene Copeland, assistant professor of directing, BW students staged Aaron Posner's "Stupid F##king Bird." Billed as sort of adapted from 'The Seagull' by Anton Chekhov, the play tells the story of an aspiring playwright who aches to make theatre an agent of change, in revolt against the commercialism his famous actress mother revels in.

The Baldwin Wallace University Honors Program officially inducted 64 students during the fall 2020 semester. The program strives for a learning environment inside and outside the classroom that engages the whole student, seeks to connect theoretical ideas to real-world applications, fosters independent thinking and brings students together into a community of scholars.

Named scholarships were earned by 680 students at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. Over 400 named scholarships provide more than $3.5 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. In addition, they carry on the donors' legacies through the lives of the students who receive their support. The scholarships vary in requirements, with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

Over 130 transfer students who were welcomed to Baldwin Wallace University this fall earned over $1.6 million in scholarships based on their previous college accomplishments. BW offers a wide range of financial support to its students - more than $51 million for the 2020-2021 academic year.
