Thirty outstanding student writers and artists at Baldwin Wallace University are featured in the 2022 edition of BW's annual literary and art journal, The Mill. The student-directed and student-operated publication showcases the creative achievements of students from across campus disciplines.

The Baldwin Wallace University Honors Program officially inducted eight rising sophomore students during the spring 2022 semester. The program strives for a learning environment inside and outside the classroom that engages the whole student, seeks to connect theoretical ideas to real world applications, fosters independent thinking and brings students together into a community of scholars.

The White Rose Ceremony is held annually in memory of Philura Gould Baldwin, granddaughter of BW founder John Baldwin and BW's first librarian. An oration is given, and select female graduates carry white roses in memory of Philura, whose life was cut short by consumption at age 26. While no criteria must be met, each woman must have distinguished herself by making a difference in the BW community.

A select group of Baldwin Wallace University graduates have gone above and beyond their degree requirements to complete BW's challenging and rewarding Honors program. Twenty-two students completed the program requirements in May 2022 out of more than 450 undergraduates who completed their degrees. The motivated students made the most of their college experience by joining a community of scholars dedicated to academic excellence, leadership development and community engagement, developing the whole student along the way. Interdisciplinary and experiential, the BW Honors program offers students unique, seminar-style courses that encourage academic exploration and independent thinking as well as countless opportunities to grow as campus leaders.

Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC first baseman Luke Vonderhaar (New Bremen) of the No. 18 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 team for the first time in his career.

Ovation, BW's annual celebration of student achievement, showcased student success in research, scholarship, experiential learning, the arts and more. The Day of Excellence featured student work from every school of the university through posters, displays, live presentations and performances.

Baldwin Wallace University softball junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC second baseman Alicia Saxton (Boardman) and junior right handed pitcher Nikki Camarati (Brunswick/Holy Name) have been selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Seven Team.

Seven Baldwin Wallace University wrestlers have been named as a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American while the program finished 10th in NCAA Division III as a Scholar All-America Team.

The Women for BW Legacy Award is granted to a qualified Baldwin Wallace woman chosen by the Legacy Endowment Award Committee on the basis of academic record, professionalism, future plans, goals and needs. The Legacy Award honors the history of the Baldwin Wallace Women's Club, established in 1921. For nearly a century, alumnae and friends from throughout the BW community gathered, in the spirit of philanthropy, to generate funds to help female students in need.

Under the direction of assistant professor of directing Rene D. Copeland, BW students staged Arthur Miller's "The Crucible," a melding of the 1692 Salem witch trials and the McCarthyism of the late '40s and early '50.

Under the direction of associate professor of acting Brennan Murphy, BW students staged William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," a story of a topsy-turvy world with love and desire, disguise and deception, heartache and sexual ambiguities.

Baldwin Wallace University and Beck Center for the Arts co-produced "Lizzie: The Musical" under the direction of Victoria Bussert with choreography by Greg Daniels and music direction by Matthew Webb. The international sensation took the world by storm in over 60 cities in six countries in five languages across four continents before the pandemic took its 40 whacks.

For the third time this season and the fourth time in her track and field career, sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) has been named OAC track athlete of the week.
