Baldwin Wallace University

Thirteen students achieved membership in Baldwin Wallace University's Delta Phi chapter of the Delta Alpha Pi International Honor Society in the spring 2019 semester. Delta Alpha Pi is an academic honor society founded to recognize high-achieving students with disabilities who are attending colleges and universities as undergraduate or graduate students. This dynamic organization celebrates and supports academic achievement, leadership and advocacy for post-secondary students with disabilities.

The prestigious honor is enabling William Lekan to go to Taiwan. He will teach English to middle school students on the Taiwanese island of Kinmen and engage in community service projects with the Buddhist organization Tsu Chi.

The following students achieved membership in the Baldwin Wallace University Business Honor Society in the spring 2019 semester. The society encourages and supports a deep network of personal and professional contact through ongoing communication and special invitations to campus events.

Baldwin Wallace University senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and D3baseball.com and American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-American right-handed pitcher Danny Cody (Medina/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) becomes the highest drafted player in school history as he was selected by the Houston Astros in the 17th round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) amateur draft.

Eleven students achieved membership in the BW Delta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society in the spring 2019 semester.

Baldwin Wallace University softball senior four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference right fielder Alexis Boledovic (Brook Park/Berea-Midpark) has been selected as a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud first-team Academic All-American.

Baldwin Wallace University senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference right-handed pitcher Danny Cody (Medina/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) lands on ABCA's All-American second team.

Thirty-two outstanding student writers and artists at Baldwin Wallace University are featured in the 2019 edition of BW's annual literary and art journal, The Mill. The student-directed and student-operated publication showcases the creative achievements of students from across campus disciplines.

For the first time in his career, Baldwin Wallace University senior two-time American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Mideast Region and two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference right-handed pitcher Danny Cody (Medina/ Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-American third team.

Twenty-three Baldwin Wallace University students were inducted into the BW Beta Upsilon Chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Honor Society in the spring 2019 semester. ASL is a premier national honor society recognizing academically outstanding adult students in higher education. Members are selected from the highest 20 percent of eligible adult students who have a minimum 3.2 GPA, 24 graded hours at BW and are enrolled in their first undergraduate degree program.

Nine BW history majors presented papers at the 2019 Phi Alpha Theta Ohio Regional Conference on March 16-17, 2019. The conference was hosted by the Baldwin Wallace University History Department and BW's Delta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.

Ovation Festival, BW's annual celebration of student achievement, showcased student success in research, scholarship, experiential learning, the arts and more. The signature event of the festival was the Day of Excellence, which featured student work from every school of the university through posters, displays, live presentations and performances.

Baldwin Wallace University senior indoor All-American sprinter Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) and senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference thrower Zak Dysert (McDonald, Pa./Fort Cherry) swept the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Great Lakes Region Athlete of the Year awards.

The Women for BW Legacy Award supports women with financial need working toward their graduate or undergraduate degree at Baldwin Wallace University. The Legacy Award honors the history of the Baldwin Wallace Women's Club, established in 1921. For nearly a century, alumnae and friends from throughout the BW community gathered, in the spirit of philanthropy, to generate funds to help female students in need.
