Thirty-Three BW Spring Student-Athletes Named Academic All-OAC

Thirty-three Baldwin Wallace University spring sport student-athletes earned spring Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. The group includes six softball players, five men's track and field competitors, four baseball players, four men's tennis players, four women's lacrosse players, four women's track and field competitors, three men's lacrosse players, two women's tennis players and one women's golfer.

Harris Named OAC Player of the Year, Ganim Tabbed as All-OAC

Two Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis student-athletes, junior number-one singles and doubles player Peter Harris (Akron/Revere) and junior No.2 singles and No.1 doubles player Doug Ganim (Westerville / Olantangy Orange), have been named to the 2015 All-Ohio Athletic Conference men's tennis team. Harris also was chosen as the 2015 OAC Player of the Year.

Two BW Women's Tennis Players Named All-OAC

Two Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis student-athletes, junior number-one singles and doubles player Kelsey Blatt (Tallmadge) and sophomore No.2 singles and doubles player Claire Watts (Medina/Highland), have been named to the 2015 All-Ohio Athletic Conference women's tennis team. This is the third straight year for Blatt and the first for Watts.

Graduating seniors recognize inspiring high school teachers with Thomas Award at Baldwin Wallace University

Four graduating seniors successfully nominated high school teachers for special recognition this spring. Teachers who engaged, inspired and encouraged the BW students, while preparing them for college, were recognized with the James Thomas High School Teacher Award. The award is funded by BW alumnus and trustee, James Thomas, chairman and CEO of Thomas Properties Group LLC, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Sally.

BW student vocalists and orchestra members performed the opera "La finta giardiniera" this spring. The early Mozart gem tells the fun and fantastical story of a noblewoman who disguises herself as a gardener to go looking for the man she loves. Romance literally drives the main characters mad, but they come to their senses and it all works out in the end.

BW students spend Spring Break serving in Roanoke, Va.

Four diverse destinations, 41 caring Baldwin Wallace University students and one short spring break week added up to a world of difference. BW's Alternative Break service program provides students the opportunity to spend their break helping others. Each trip is led by a BW student with a University faculty or staff advisor also participating. The 2015 student volunteers traveled to Roanoke, Va.; Kissimmee, Fla.; Miami, Fla. and Biloxi, Miss.
