BW students break records at 15th Annual Dance Marathon to fight pediatric AIDS

Dance Marathon is the largest philanthropy organization on campus. Lasting 12 hours, the marathon consists of performers, dance and education about HIV/AIDS. All proceeds were donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which seeks to educate and reduce the the transmission and cases of pediatric AIDS worldwide.

BW student vocalists and orchestra members performed the opera "The Tragedy of Carmen" during the spring semester. Peter Brook's 1983 adaptation pares Georges Bizet's "Carmen" down to its most essential parts, while retaining much of its well-known music.

Baldwin Wallace University and Beck Center for the Arts produced their fifth collaboration with Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In the Heights," directed by Victoria Bussert with choreography by Gregory Daniels and musical direction by David Pepin. The Plain Dealer touted the production as "vibrant, heartfelt. . .pulsing with highly caffeinated life."

For the fifth year in a row, BW's Circle K service club won the Daniel J. Romanello Achievement Award, which is presented to the best Circle K club in Ohio. The award recognizes and honors clubs that have excelled in all aspects of club operation. BW's Circle K members were also recognized with individual awards in nearly every category.

BW broadcasting and mass communication major Sam Trapp won the Broadcast Education Association Walter S. Patterson Award. Sponsored by the National Association of Broadcasters, the $1,750 scholarship is awarded to students working toward a career in radio.

Seven BW Wrestlers Honored by NWCA for Academics

The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team had its best season in the history of the program and the successes didn't just happen on the mat. They also took place in the classroom as the Yellow Jacket team and seven of its starters were honored at the 2016 NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships by the NWCA (National Wrestling Coaches Association).
