BEREA, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American sprinter Ben Beidleman (Washington D.C./ St. Anselm's Abbey), sophomore 141-pound wrestler Josh Decatur (Akron / Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) and junior All-American multi-event athlete Melanie Winters (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls) have earned Ohio Athletic Conference weekly honors.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall Semester 2014 at Baldwin Wallace University according to Stephen D. Stahl, Provost. Students who receive at least a 3.6 GPA for seven or more graded hours in a single semester are named to the Dean's List.

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University performed the iconic musical "A Chorus Line," this fall. Directed by Victoria Bussert and choreographed by Gregory Daniels, the Music Theatre program along with the Department of Theatre and Dance created a musical theatre sensation that left packed audiences in awe.

A distinguished group of students at Baldwin Wallace University has reached BW's pinnacle of academic honor society achievement with Fall 2014 induction into the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. Less than four percent of the undergraduate student body achieves membership in the society.

Baldwin Wallace University freshman guard Cameron Kuhn (Vermilion) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for his efforts in three Yellow Jacket victories last week.

Six Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's soccer student-athletes were named to the 2014 Ohio Soccer Coaches Association All-Ohio NCAA Division III teams.

Emily Warren won the Mel and Jena Hakola Prize for Academic and Vocal Excellence at the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. A junior majoring in music performance with a concentration in voice, Warren won the $4,600 prize created to encourage and reward voice students who demonstrate exceptional vocal, musical, intellectual and creative talents.

Baldwin Wallace University senior football wide receiver and return specialist Kyle Dunne (Rocky River) was named third-team D3football.com All-North Region.

Baldwin Wallace University sophomore women's soccer defender Kelly Gough has been named third-team National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/ Continental Tire Division III All-Great Lakes Region.

Baldwin Wallace University senior standout student-athlete and football linebacker Dan O'Brien (Warren/Howland) has been named to the 2014 CAPITAL ONE Division III Academic All-America second-team.

Three Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer players have been named to the 2014 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team. All three players are garnering their first career OAC honor.

Sixteen Baldwin Wallace University students were inducted into the Beta Upsilon Chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) Honor Society. ASL is a premier national honor society recognizing academically outstanding adult students in higher education. Members are selected from the highest 20 percent of eligible adult students who have a minimum 3.2 GPA, 24 graded hours at Baldwin Wallace and are matriculated in their first undergraduate degree program.

Head Coach Reid Ayers and sophomore defender Kelly Gough headline the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team's 2014 All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. Ayers was named the Coach-of-the Year and Gough was named the Defender Player-of the-Year as well as being selected first-team All-OAC.

Baldwin Wallace University football players Addison Carbone and Dan O'Brien have been named to the 2014 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 team.

Baldwin Wallace University sophomore libero Arlayna Newcomer has been named to the 2014 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University presented Shakespeare's masterpiece of rebellion and passion, ROMEO AND JULIET, to enthusiastic audiences this fall. Directed by Adam Heffernan, the impressive performance brought the Bard's classic play to life.

As part of BW's Alternative Break program, a group of 11 students will travel to Detroit over Thanksgiving break to volunteer with CASS Community Social Services. The focus of the trip is hunger and homelessness. Students will prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal and help with other CASS social service programs. The Alternative Break experience provides students with opportunities to make a difference, travel to other cities, learn new skills and meet people with similar interests.

Baldwin Wallace University's Homecoming Weekend had the whole Yellow Jacket community abuzz. The weekend's festivities included a pep rally, parade, tailgate picnic, dance, alumni reunions and a Yellow Jacket football victory over the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies. The Jacket Prince and Princess were crowned during the Homecoming pep rally and the Homecoming King and Queen were crowned at halftime.

Rachel Zacharias, a BW senior majoring in neuroscience and psychology, won a prestigious $5,000 grant from Psi Chi, The International Honor Society in Psychology to fund the research for her thesis project. Zacharias will use the grant to study the effectiveness of acetazolamide and corticosterone as either prophylactics or treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Baldwin Wallace University inducted 42 students into the Theta Upsilon Chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha, a premier honor society committed to the academic success of its members and alignment with the academic missions of its host institutions.

From science to music to philosophy and more, 11 students pursued research or creative projects of their own design under the supervision of a faculty mentor as part of BW's Summer Scholars program. The 10-week program recently received a generous gift from John Schanz '53 in memory of his wife, Joyce Evans Schanz '53. The Scholars live together in a collaborative learning environment on campus and regularly share their research with one another through weekly meetings.

BW's premier capstone celebration, Ovation 2014, spotlighted the outstanding creativity, research and academic and artistic achievement of BW students. At a traditional Honors Award Ceremony which caps off the event, the following distinguished students were recognized with scholarships and awards.
