Baldwin Wallace University congratulates our May 2014 graduates! The following students completed all requirements for a graduate and/or undergraduate degree in Spring 2014.

From science to music to philosophy and more, 11 students pursued research or creative projects of their own design under the supervision of a faculty mentor as part of BW's Summer Scholars program. The 10-week program recently received a generous gift from John Schanz '53 in memory of his wife, Joyce Evans Schanz '53. The Scholars live together in a collaborative learning environment on campus and regularly share their research with one another through weekly meetings.

BW's premier capstone celebration, Ovation 2014, spotlighted the outstanding creativity, research and academic and artistic achievement of BW students. At a traditional Honors Award Ceremony which caps off the event, the following distinguished students were recognized with scholarships and awards.

The Baldwin Wallace University Honors Program has officially inducted 18 rising sophomores at a pinning ceremony. The Honors Program strives for a learning environment inside and outside the classroom that engages the whole student, seeks to connect theoretical ideas to real world applications, fosters independent thinking, and brings students together into a community of scholars. These aims are achieved through student-directed research, service to the community, and leadership development.

The following students have been named to the Dean's List for the Spring Semester 2014 at Baldwin Wallace University according to Stephen D. Stahl, Provost. Students who receive at least a 3.6 GPA for seven or more graded hours in a single semester are named to the Dean's List.

Baldwin Wallace University senior third baseman Brad Gugliotta has been selected as a third-team CAPITAL ONE Division III Academic All-American.

Baldwin Wallace University junior first baseman Kyle Chontos (was named as a second-team ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) and D3Baseball.com Division III All-American.

Four Baldwin Wallace University baseball student-athletes have been named to the 2014 D3Baseball.com All-Mideast Region team

Three Baldwin Wallace University baseball players have been named to the 2014 ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region team.

Five graduating seniors successfully nominated high school teachers for special recognition. Teachers who engaged, inspired and encouraged the recent BW grads, while preparing them for college, were recognized with the James Thomas High School Teacher Award. The award is funded by BW alumnus and trustee, James Thomas, chairman and CEO of Thomas Properties Group LLC, who lives in Los Angeles with his wife Sally.

Baldwin Wallace University senior men's golfer Stephen Spalding (Stow/Walsh/Jesuit) has been selected to the 2014 CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District 7 At-Large team. Spalding now qualifies for the CAPITAL ONE National Academic All-America ballot for NCAA Division III.

A Baldwin Wallace University May 2014 graduate and rising senior are the winners of the prestigious Charles J. Stilwell Scholarship. The $4,000 scholarship, administered by the Cleveland Foundation's Fenn Educational Fund (Fenn), recognizes outstanding performance in an internship.

A student-directed and student-operated publication, The Mill, showcases the creative achievements of these gifted students, from across campus disciplines.

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University will present THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE, a tale of power, scandal and betrayal at a Highlands school for girls. Directed by Jack B. Winget, the production runs April 9-13 in the William Allman Theater, Kleist Center for Arts & Drama, 95 East Bagley Road, Berea. Audiences will enjoy the distinctive experience of alley stage seating and the added spectacle of high energy Scottish dancing between acts.

Fourteen Baldwin Wallace University winter sports student-athletes have been named to the 2013-2014 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

Four diverse destinations, 37 generous Baldwin Wallace University students and one short spring break week added up to a world of difference. BW's Alternative Break experience provides students the opportunity to spend their break in service. Each trip is led by a BW student with a University faculty or staff advisor also participating. The 2014 student volunteers traveled to Chicago, Charleston, S.C., Jacksonville, Fla. and Biloxi, Miss.
