Baldwin Wallace University junior Division III All-American thrower Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township/ Kenston) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

Seventeen Baldwin Wallace University winter sport student-athletes earned Acaemic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. A student-athlete must maintain a sophomore or higher class standing, maintain varsity status and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.496 (rounded up to 3.5).

Baldwin Wallace University senior basketball standout Justin Roth (Parma) was named to the 2014-2015 NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Division III All-Great Lakes Region second-team.

Baldwin Wallace University freshman goalkeeper Mike Dizonno (Buffalo Grove, Ill./ Adalai E. Stevenson) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defender of the Week.

Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American pentathlete Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) has been named as both the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) Great Lakes Division III Region Most Valuable Field Athlete and Most Valuable Track Athlete. It marks the first time a Great Lakes Region student-athlete has earned both awards in the same season.

The reviews are in with thumbs up for the Baldwin Wallace University and Beck Center for the Arts collaborative production of "Dogfight," directed by Victoria Bussert with choreography by Gregory Daniels and musical direction by David Pepin. The Plain Dealer touts "Dogfight" as having, "Precision performances - Broadway quality and better." The show has been such a hit; the run was extended through March 22.

Twelve students spent 10 weeks during the Fall 2014 semester studying abroad in Ecuador with Dr. Michael Melampy, Professor of Biology. They lived with Ecuadorian host families, traveled through the Galapagos Islands, the Pacific Coast, the Highlands, and the Lowlands. Students were enrolled in biology, Spanish and political science classes and earned a total of 18 credit hours.

Three Baldwin Wallace University women's basketball standouts, senior forward Audrey Smolik (Strongsville), sophomore guard Sydney Clark (Parma/ Lake Ridge Academy) and sophomore forward Clara Lemmon (Canton/Louisville), have been named to the 2015 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

Three Baldwin Wallace University wrestlers, junior 174-pounder Garrett Chase (Erie Pa./Cathedral Prep), freshman 197-pounder Tyler Maclellan (Medina/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) and junior 125-pound Division III All-American Jesse Gunter (Akron/ Coventry) have been named to the 2015 All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University staged Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize winning "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" this February. The play, directed by Dr. Jack Winget, is often considered the greatest American Drama ever written. It exposes the emotional lies governing relationships in a wealthy Southern family while exploring the human experience and our inability to communicate, which inevitably leads to loneliness.

As part of BW's Alternative Break service program, a group of 20 students traveled to Chicago over Winter Break 2014. Some students focused on social justice issues while others focused on LGBT and mental health issues.

BEREA, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace University junior two-time NCAA Division III All-American multi-event performer Melanie Winters (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls) has earned her second straight, fourth indoor track and eighth career Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honor.
