BW students spend Spring Break serving in Miami, Fla.

Four diverse destinations, 41 caring Baldwin Wallace University students and one short spring break week added up to a world of difference. BW's Alternative Break service program provides students the opportunity to spend their break helping others. Each trip is led by a BW student with a University faculty or staff advisor also participating. The 2015 student volunteers traveled to Roanoke, Va.; Kissimmee, Fla.; Miami, Fla. and Biloxi, Miss.

Seventeen Baldwin Wallace University winter sport student-athletes earned Acaemic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors. A student-athlete must maintain a sophomore or higher class standing, maintain varsity status and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.496 (rounded up to 3.5).

BW All-American Winters Garners Two Great Lakes Region MVP Honors

Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American pentathlete Melanie Winters (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) has been named as both the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) Great Lakes Division III Region Most Valuable Field Athlete and Most Valuable Track Athlete. It marks the first time a Great Lakes Region student-athlete has earned both awards in the same season.

BW students staging "Dogfight" earn great reviews

The reviews are in with thumbs up for the Baldwin Wallace University and Beck Center for the Arts collaborative production of "Dogfight," directed by Victoria Bussert with choreography by Gregory Daniels and musical direction by David Pepin. The Plain Dealer touts "Dogfight" as having, "Precision performances - Broadway quality and better." The show has been such a hit; the run was extended through March 22.

BW students study abroad in Ecuador

Twelve students spent 10 weeks during the Fall 2014 semester studying abroad in Ecuador with Dr. Michael Melampy, Professor of Biology. They lived with Ecuadorian host families, traveled through the Galapagos Islands, the Pacific Coast, the Highlands, and the Lowlands. Students were enrolled in biology, Spanish and political science classes and earned a total of 18 credit hours.

Students stage "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof"

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University staged Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer Prize winning "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" this February. The play, directed by Dr. Jack Winget, is often considered the greatest American Drama ever written. It exposes the emotional lies governing relationships in a wealthy Southern family while exploring the human experience and our inability to communicate, which inevitably leads to loneliness.
