Four graduating seniors successfully nominated high school teachers for special recognition this spring. Teachers who engaged, inspired and encouraged the BW students, while preparing them for college, were recognized with the James Thomas High School Teacher Award. The award is funded by BW alumnus and trustee, James Thomas, chairman and CEO of Thomas Properties Group LLC.

The Baldwin Wallace University Alumni Office is pleased to announce a new class of Student Ambassadors, a student organization that fosters relationships between BW alumni and the University.

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University staged Matthew Barber's Tony-nominated play, "Enchanted April," during the spring 2016 semester. Directed by Jack Winget, the play is a joyfully restorative tale set amongst wisteria and Mediterranean sunshine as four women from post-World War I London rent a villa in Italy for a ladies-only holiday.

Baldwin Wallace University senior two-time Academic All-American and All-American sprinter Ben Beidleman (Washington, D.C./St. Anselm's Abbey) and senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and three-time NCAA national qualifier thrower Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/Riverside) have been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 track and field and cross country team. BW celebrates outstanding multicultural students each spring at the Obie Bender Multicultural Awards ceremony. The awards are named for Dr. Obie Bender '62, who was an officer of the University for 36 years. Throughout his tenure Bender provided exceptional leadership as a BW administrative liaison and was responsible for intercollegiate athletics, campus security, and the health and physical education and recreation facilities.

Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse All-Ohio Athletic Conference junior midfielders Maddie Russell (Lakewood/Rocky River) and Katie Kocher (Rocky River) have been selected to the second-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Great Lakes Region.

BW's Symphonic Wind Ensemble embarked on a six-day performance tour in Washington, D.C. over 2016 Spring Break. They interacted with students from four diverse high schools through a variety of master classes and performances. The tour culminated with a performance at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Center for Innovation & Growth (CIG) at Baldwin Wallace University is pleased to announce the 2016-17 CIG Ratcliffe Student Fellows. The group or 34 students, representing 39 majors, will spend the upcoming academic year turning passion into opportunity via innovation, entrepreneurship and integrity-based leadership.

A talented cast and crew from Baldwin Wallace University staged Charles Mee's "Big Love" during the spring 2016 semester. Directed by Anjanette Hall, the play puts a unique, modern twist to the Greek play, "The Suppliants" by Aeschylus when fifty brides (represented by 3) flee to a manor in Italy to avoid marrying their fifty cousins.
