Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse senior four-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference first-team selection and two-time OAC Defender of the Year Josiah Greve (Milford) will play in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Nike North-South Senior All-Star game.

Baldwin Wallace University's Center for Innovation & Growth (CIG) is pleased to announce the 2017-18 CIG Ratcliffe Student Fellows. The group of 33 students, representing 30 majors, will spend the upcoming academic year turning passion into opportunity via innovation, entrepreneurship and integrity-based leadership. The White Rose Ceremony is held annually in memory of Philura Gould Baldwin, granddaughter of BW founder John Baldwin and BW's first librarian. At the behest of the Baldwin family, an oration is given and select female graduates participate by carrying white roses that serve as a memorial to Philura whose life was cut short by tuberculosis at age 27. While no criteria must be met, each woman must have, in her own unique way, distinguished herself by making a difference in the BW community.

Ovation Festival 2017, BW's annual celebration of student achievement, spotlighted student success in research and scholarship, the arts, experiential learning and leadership, and athletics. The signature event of the 10-day festival was the Day of Excellence, which featured student work from every school of the University through posters, displays, live presentations and performances. The day concluded with the Honors Awards Ceremony that recognized students with scholarships and awards.

The 2017 Student Life and Leadership Awards recognized the accomplishments of student leaders, faculty and staff advisers, organizations and programs that have made an impact on the BW community and beyond.

BW celebrates outstanding multicultural students each spring at the Obie Bender Multicultural Awards ceremony. The awards are named for Dr. Obie Bender '62, who was an officer of the University for 36 years. Throughout his tenure Bender provided exceptional leadership as a BW administrative liaison and was responsible for intercollegiate athletics, campus security and the health and physical education and recreation facilities.

Four graduating seniors successfully nominated high school teachers for special recognition this spring. Teachers who engaged, inspired and encouraged the students, while preparing them for college, were recognized with the James Thomas High School Teacher Award. The award is funded by BW alumnus and trustee James Thomas, chairman and CEO of Thomas Properties Group LLC.

Baldwin Wallace University junior right fielder Alex Marcum (Granville) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week for the second time this season.

The student-directed and student-operated publication showcases the creative achievements of gifted students from across campus disciplines.

Baldwin Wallace University senior men's golf player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) garnered his fourth career Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week honor for his strong play at the OAC Spring Invitational.

The following students achieved membership in the BW Sigma Chapter of Phi Sigma Tau, the International Honor Society in Philosophy, in the spring 2017 semester. Undergraduate students are eligible for active membership if they have completed three semesters or five quarters of the college course, rank in the upper 35 percent of their class, and have completed at least two semester courses in philosophy with an average grade of over the second highest grade of the working scale.
